WHEAT RIDGE WATER DISTRICT TAP AND MISCELLANEOUS FEE SCHEDULE 4-9-2019
    
These fees are in addition to Denver Water System Development Charges which apply to the District
1.  Single Family Residential
Applicability: Licenses for individual single family ¾” residential taps within the Wheat Ridge Water District service area.  Single family rates also apply to duplexes or multi unit developments with individual taps and meters for each owner. Larger individual taps will be charged the commercial rate.
Base charge per residential tap        $6,000.00
2.  Multi Family Residential (Duplexes up to any greater number of units)
Applicability: Licenses for multifamily residential taps within the Wheat Ridge Water District service area. System Development Charges are due and payable prior to issuance of a license to the customer.
A.     Charge for first two units served through a single tap:             $10,000.00
B.     Charge per unit for next six household units:                            $ 2,500.00
C.     Charge per unit over eight household units:                               $ 1,250.00

Large planned residential developments or developments involving several buildings constructed simultaneously may be adjusted provided that the development is required to build substantial main improvements for the District to support the development, and the District water system, and the Board of Directors supports such method of charging fees in the interest of the Wheat Ridge Water District. The cost of taps 2” or larger may be adjusted upwards by the Board of Directors to reflect the cost of additional mains serving the projected tap.
3. Commercial Non Residential
Applicability: Licenses for all other taps within the Wheat Ridge Water District service area. Charges are due and payable prior to issuance of a license to the customer. The cost of taps 2” or larger may be adjusted by the Board of Directors to reflect the cost of needed additional mains serving the projected tap.  The final tap price will be determined after consultation with the District Engineer as to the actual cost of serving taps larger than 2”.   Minimum Fees are by tap sizes in inches.

Fire Lines: $250.00 per inch of fire line.  .
Temporary Hydrant Meter Tap:  $1,500.00 refundable deposit plus $300.00 non-refundable user fee, plus $7.00 per thousand water usage fee.
Backflow Device:  $600.00 refundable deposit; $50.00 user fee.
Unauthorized Hydrant Use:  $500.00 for first unauthorized use, $1,000.00 for second unauthorized use, and $1,500.00 for third and subsequent unauthorized usages.
New Meter Charge: 5/8”, ¾” and 1” meter: $250.00.  1.5” and larger, cost to be determined.
Unauthorized Use:  Unauthorized use or theft of water by turning service valves without authority, meter by-passes or any other unmetered or unauthorized use effectively resulting in theft of water:  $50.00 penalty per month of unauthorized use, plus estimated water charges, based upon historical prior metered use of property, or estimated charge if a new structure or lot uses water without authority.
NOTE: A CERTIFIED PLOT PLAN SHOWING GROSS LOT SIZE MUST ACCOMPANY ALL REQUESTS FOR WATER TAPS.
